Dosing and chemical storage in biomass power plant

Safe storage and accurate dosing of chemicals

Power plants require different chemicals for water treatment, feed-water conditioning, cooling water, and emissions reduction, so are often supplied by tank truck. The chemical storage tanks on the plant need monitoring and protection from overfilling. Typically, the transfer lines need to be double walled and monitored using leak detection systems. The safety basins built around the tanks for environmental protection must be equipped with leak detectors according to meet local regulations.

KROHNE offers a variety of instrumentation to meet these duties, for example the certified OPTISWITCH liquid detection safety switches, OPTIWAVE contactless radar level meters, as well as suitable flowmeters for flow control in the dosing lines to meet the process requirements.
